My favorite part about making music is there are no boundaries. After hearing the project I wanted to make something more melodic and then, all in perfect timing, I connected with JR Jarris.
Sultry and introspective with substance and an R&B feel making this track was a story in itself. For the feature, I reached out to Charley who I knew from a production group we were both previously in. Once I got those standout vocals from her everything was in place except for the hook. I was going through a wild month when this song was being pieced together. "Need What We Want Right Now, Need What We Need Right Now, The Finer Things" was speaking to the fact that in October (when this was made) I needed surgery, my father needed an operation, my mother was having kidney issues, financial challenges came up and still had to navigate everything else. Perspective is powerful. Fast forward a bit everything worked out for the best and the inspiration used for it all was really all in perfect timing despite how it looked.
